It has only been 3 years since Mercedes gave us a brand new S class, but they've decided that the time has come to make a few updates. The S class now comes with new headlamps and taillamps, as well as an updated interior, and the powertrains have been updated in the name of fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions. Nissan's Motorsport arm, NISMO, has finally taken the wraps off its Z-tune car. The NISMO Z-tune comes complete with a slight hike in the horsepower department, 350 hp at 7600 rpm and 276 lb ft of torque at 5600 rpm. The increase in power comes from a new H-configured exhaust system, muffler tuning, as well as fettling with the Engine Computer Module(ECM), with that power chanelled through Nissan's rev-matching 6 speed close ratio gearbox. Jay "The ultimate petrol head" Leno, has taken his time to review a special edition Dodge Challenger. The car comes complete with a Paxton blower enabling the 6.1l Hemi V8 to produce 570 hp and 525 lb ft of torque. The video is complete with burnouts, noise and Jay's sense of humor. Enjoy. Probably the meanest muscle car you can buy today, and Inside Line have been lucky enough to torture its tyres. Definitely worth watching for Muscle car enthusiasts. GM and and Segway have teamed up to produce the P.U.M.A. prototype. Though we might be thinking of shoes at this point, the P.U.M.A. has nothing to do with the shoe maker, it simply stands for Personal Urban Mobility and Accesibility. Nissan will be unveiling its Nissan 370 Z roadster at the New York car show tomorrow. In the meanwhile Nissan has decided to give a taster of its new roadster by releasing an image (left) to the automotive press. It gets the same 3.7l V6 engine as the coupe, complete with 327hp and a nice torque figure of 268 lb ft, all directed to the rear wheels. BMW have finally let the world see their all new hot-rod SUVs, the X6 M and X5 M, after several months of speculation and spy photos. The M division has come a long way, from that beautiful homologation special that was the BMW M1, to two SUVs ready to take on the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and the Mercedes ML 63 AMG. It must be said that to BMW M car enthusiasts, the latest offerings from the M division may come as a bit of a shock, especially since BMW themselves claimed a while back that they would never build an SUV with an M badge on it. Now they have built two. We were hoping that there would be no need for the F1 stewards to determine the final results of today's race. Well we got our wish, the stewards didn't interfere, but mother nature did. Jenson Button has managed to claim pole position again for the second race of the 2009 Formula 1 season. It seemed like we were going to witness another 1-2 pole position for the Brawn GP drivers, but Toyota's Jarno Trulli managed get in the way of that, snatching second place on the starting grid. Sebastien Vettel will start at third place, while Button's team mate, Rubens Barrichello, will start fourth on the grid. The Daily Show never fails to get people laughing, however it is very unlikely that they'll manage to get the top dogs at GM and Chrysler laughing considering the amount of scrutiny they're currently going through. Stuart also takes a jab at President Barack Obama's car sales skills. If you're not a GM or Chrysler executive, we're sure you'll enjoy this "Carmageddon 09" skit. |
