Easter standouts!

2013 Dodge SRT Viper
The 2013 Dodge SRT Viper is without question one of the most anticipated cars of the year, and you can see it simply by going to the New York International Auto Show.

Hardcore Dodge fans will be thrilled to see the Viper again, especially since it was thought that the previous version would be the last one.  To make the fans even happier, it keeps its gigantic 8.4-litre V10 engine, and has even more grunt at 640hp and 600 lb.-ft of torque – still from a naturally aspirated engine.

In terms of layout, we still get the classic long nose, short rear look, accompanied by an all new aggressive looking body with side-exiting exhausts.  The driver will make use of a six-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels, while being cocooned by a modern-looking cabin.

As the 1st of June approaches, many car enthusiasts were worried that GM would axe the Chevrolet Corvette as part of its restructuring plans, worried it would suffer the same impending doom of Chrysler's Dodge Viper.

Edmund's Inside Line has revealed that the Corvette is in fact safe, and there are no plans to stop production of the American icon anytime soon. Quoting GM's CEO, Fritz Henderson, that the Corvette will be a part of GM's "new" future.

Information concerning assembly plant closings and reduction of salaried workers, is expected towards the end of May.

GM and Segway to show us their P.U.M.A. vehicle.

Comments

GM and and Segway have teamed up to produce the  P.U.M.A. prototype. Though we might be thinking of shoes at this point, the P.U.M.A. has nothing to do with the shoe maker, it simply stands for Personal Urban Mobility and Accesibility.

What stands out about this vehicle, is that it's two wheeled, able to carry two or more passengers.  It is a compact vehicle designed for  travelling around the city quickly and cleanly, and at a low cost.  The P.U.M.A is an electric vehicle capable of going upto 35 mph and covering a not so massive range of 35 miles.

We will be seeing the real thing at the New York car show tomorrow.
