After much hype and excitement following the release of the Juke-R concept car, both the media and enthusiasts were very keen on a production car being made – Nissan has finally confirmed that it will go on sale.
The Juke-R will be available in limited numbers, and on a build-to-order basis. As of today, Nissan has received firm orders for three cars to be built.
Like the concept car, the production version will be making use of the GT-R super GT’s powertrain – a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine producing 545hp, sending its power through a six-speed double-clutch transmission to all wheels. Not only does this make the road-going Juke-R about 60hp more powerful than the concept car, it can reach a top speed of 160mph too.
Nissan decided to put the Juke-R on sale following a positive reaction from its Dubai debut in January. Nissan also states that two of the three orders received come from a “well-respected member of Dubai society.”
There is no word on pricing just yet, however order books for the British-built Juke-R will be open in the next four weeks – the first three cars will be delivered late this summer. If you’re interested in the Juke-R, contact Nissan through Juke-R@Nissan.co.uk.
