Aston Martin has taken the lid off, literally, the V12 Vantage to create the new V12 Vantage Roadster.
The V12 Vantage Roadster uses the ubiquitous 6.0-litre V12 doing service in most of the Aston Martin range, and it produces 517hp at 6,500rpm and 570 Nm (420 lb ft) of torque at 5,750rpm. Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 4.5 sec, while top speed is 190mph (304km/h).
Along with a redesigned boot lid to reduce lift and a lower front air intake, the Roadster also comes with a modified rear damper set-up, damper valve tuning front and rear, and new rear spring design. The V12 Vantage Roadster makes use of 19-inch wheels wrapped around in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, and is equipped with ventilated carbon ceramic brake discs front (398mm) and rear (360mm).
For now the only gearbox available for the 1,760kg Roadster is a six-speed manual mounted at the rear, with a final drive ratio of 3.71:1 and a limited-slip differential equalizing the power at the rear wheels.
The V12 Vantage Roadster will be available in limited numbers and in select markets. It is now available to order, and prices start at £150,000 in the UK.
