Car magazines have been saying the Toyota GT 86 (The Scion FR-S with a different badge) is great fun to drive. Now with the help of drift racer Ken Gushi, know that it can provide nice long slides too. If you were never sold on the idea of a hybrid, how about this – the Lexus CT 200h F-Sport. The Lexus CT 200h F-Sport has the same 134hp 1.8-litre four-cylinder hybrid engine as the Toyota Prius, but with an exterior that has an element of class and desirability to it. The interior is nice as well, thanks to the use of high-quality materials. Despite the effort in design and quality, the standard CT 200h has been criticised for being just another dull hybrid. The new F-Sport attempts to liven up the driving experience by having a new sporty suspension fitted. The new suspension makes use of new Kayaba lateral dampers, as well as changing the coil spring rates. Lexus claim that these changes will make the driving experience more rewarding and make the steering feel more linear, while still maintaining comfort. So who would win in a drag race between a Ferrari F430 and a 100 percent stock Toyota Corolla? The Ferrari F430 of course...right? With Toyota having recalled an estimated 8 million vehicles due to issues concerning throttles being jammed open, Edmunds Insideline have made a video showing what you could do if ever you are found in such an unfortunate situation. According to the good people at Autocar.co.uk, Toyota and Subaru have confirmed that they will go back to building their affordable, fun to drive, rear wheel drive coupe. Toyota president, Akio Toyoda, said Toyota plans to use its experience in the world of racing to create a car that is fun to drive, while remaining affordable. Toyota hopes to attract a new generation of buyers with this new sports model, and also polish up its image. The "Toyobaru" is planned for sales release within the next few years. |
